While previous Pioneer X albums used a layered approach with many different instruments and sonic palettes, every song on Glass Eye consists of just one instrument, the acoustic lap steel guitar. The isolation of the pandemic and my love for many great acoustic solo performer albums inspired these songs. A Weissenborn-style lap steel is used on most of the tracks, while a few use a tricone resonator steel.
